iPad 2, Playbook and Samsung GloriaSamsung is strengthening its tablet lineup with the announcement of the Gloria –what appears to be a Windows 7 tablet – not a Windows Phone 7 device at all.

This may seem to a bit of a surprise for some folks, but actually, it was always expected that the Microsoft OS to be used in a tablet would be the Windows 7 platform.

This is actually what Google originally hoped for with their Chrome operating system. However, the success of the Android has gotten many manufacturers to prefer the mobile platform to be used in tablet devices instead.

From what we have seen, the Gloria is actually sporting a slider QWERTY keyboard –which is going to be important for the OS and also, the device will be equipped with a 10 inch touch screen display.

Apple's iPad 2 is definitely going to be in store shelves come this April. The only question now is which region will be getting the device first? At this point, it is assumed by many that a US launch will be coming a few days or even a week ahead of a UK launch.

Foxconn has confirmed that they are going to start on Apple's production queue with an expected production turnout of 400,000 to 600,000 units by the end of February – the production is expected to continue until the launch of the device. Many believe that the iPad 2 will be able to match and even surpass the initial sales figures of the iPad thanks to the upgraded hardware and better features of the newer tablet.

Lastly, BlackBerry's Playbook has been shown off by none other than RIM co-CEO Mike Lazaridis himself. When asked about the device's launch date, the chief mentioned something about "tracking Q1", though what he truly meant by his reply has not been explained in detail.
